Overview
GravityPing ("the App") is operated by SimbaApps LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use GravityPing, how we use it, who we share it with, and what rights you have.
GravityPing is a simple fermentation gravity check reminder for homebrewers. It sends scheduled reminders to check gravity readings during fermentation cycles.

SimbaApps LLC is the data controller for information collected through GravityPing.
2. What We Collect
2.1 App-Specific Data
GravityPing collects the following data to deliver its core functionality:
- Fermentation batch data: Batch names, styles, gravity readings, temperatures, and notes you enter
- Schedule preferences: Your chosen check schedule days and reminder times
- Notification preferences: Your preferred notification channel (email, SMS, or WhatsApp)
2.2 Account Data
GravityPing uses passwordless authentication (magic links). We collect:
- Email address — for login and email reminders
- Phone number — only if you opt in to SMS/WhatsApp reminders (Pro feature)
No passwords are stored.
2.3 Analytics Data
We use Plausible Analytics — a cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics tool — to understand how the app is used. Plausible does not collect personally identifiable information and does not use tracking cookies.
2.4 Payment Data
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full credit card number. Stripe provides us a tokenized reference and basic billing information for receipts and support.
2.5 Notification Data
If you opt in to SMS or WhatsApp reminders, we collect your phone number. Notifications are delivered via Twilio. You can opt out at any time in your account settings.
2.6 Technical / Log Data
Our servers (hosted on Vercel) and database (Supabase) automatically log:
- IP address (anonymized)
- Device type and operating system
- Error logs and crash reports
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect to:
- Deliver the service — schedule and send gravity check reminders
- Sync your data — access your batches and readings across devices
- Send notifications — only those you've opted into
- Improve the product — understand aggregate usage to prioritize features
- Prevent abuse — detect spam, fraud, and security incidents
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising.

GravityPing uses minimal storage mechanisms:
- Session tokens — stored in secure, httpOnly cookies to keep you logged in
- App preferences — stored in your device's local storage
- No third-party tracking cookies

8. Your Rights
GDPR Rights (EEA and UK Residents)
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, and object to processing of your data.
CCPA Rights (California Residents)
You have the right to know, delete, and opt out. We do not sell data.
How to Exercise Your Rights
Email support@simbaapps.com with subject "Privacy Request — GravityPing". We respond within 30 days.
9. Children's Privacy
GravityPing is not intended for children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA).
10. International Data Transfers
SimbaApps LLC operates from the United States. For users in the EEA or UK, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
11. Changes to This Policy
Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification with at least 14 days' notice.
